Pipevine Swallowtails
This is not a complete list of Georgia butterflies, although most were taken in this state. For more complete information check the links at the bottom of the page. Most of these butterflies were identified with the help of primarily Jim Flynn and also Earl Horn and Mike Thomas. Taxonomy follows Glassberg in Butterflies through Binoculars but will soon be switched over to Hodges number like the moth and caterpillar pages. Many of these species, especially skippers, can look very different based on the age or sex of the butterfly, so I have tried to provide images that show some of the different looks you might see. All of the tough ones have been IDed for me by Jim or James Adams, so thanks gentlemen! This site is being published in March 2020, and many of the pages have been brought over from my old site but are not yet cleaned up from transcription issues... please be patient with me!
