Hazards for dragonflies
Robber Flies (Family Asilidae) are speedy aggressive predators that specialize in certain prey. This species (Triorla interrupta) apparently specializes in Eastern Amberwings! These photos were taken in July 2002 in Jasper County Georgia.

Birds are well-known predators of dragonflies. Here are several examples, cw from top left: Swallow-tailed Kite (Elanoides forficatus), Gray Kingbird (Tyrannus dominicensis), Purple Martin (Progne subis), and trouble from below, Purple Gallinule (Porphyrula martinica).
